I thought I would make my first beauty post a monthly favourites, as they are by far one of my favourite posts to read. I always get abnormally excited coming up to the end of the month, waiting in anticipation for all the monthly favourites posts to appear on blogs (there is a shopping spree or two following these). I know I’m a little late, but here is what I loved throughout the month of May:
2) Chanel Les Beiges, All-In-One Healthy Glow Cream - SPF 30 (shade N10).
The clue is in the name with this one. It imparts a healthy glow on skin (much needed for sleep-deprived Mums). It’s very light, in both texture and coverage, which I love. I do use some concealer here and there, but I usually have to with other similar products. It’s the perfect Summer product, but I wouldn’t imagine it being so great for those with an oily complexion (I have normal to dry skin type). Wear time is pretty good in my opinion. I would say it does wear off as the day goes on (I personally find that this is a common thing with the lighter bases), but I feel my skin still looks nice at the end of a long day.
3) Molecule 01, by Eccentric Molecules. For those who are not familiar with this perfume, it is very unique, in that it is made from only the Iso E Super aroma (used as a base note in some perfumes). It smells different on everyone, and I've found one person will find it smells different on me to the next person (that maybe doesn't make a lot of sense, but it does in my head). When I first spray it, it has a very clean smell on me, but after a while of wearing it, it settles into a more woody scent. I’d imagine this will sound a little weird (you will start to see this a common theme), but there is something very comforting about the smell of it. I was given it as a Birthday present, and I've barely worn anything else since receiving it. I can see it becoming my signature scent, and that almost never happens!
4)Soap and Glory Whipped Clean Shower Butter (3 for 2 at Boots at the moment). Soap and Glory describe this as shower gel and body butter in one, and there is no argument from me on that front. That is exactly what it is, and it performs both of these functions perfectly. It smells amazing, I detect a hint of the Laura Mercier Creme De Pistache scent. It leaves my skin feeling soft, and comfortable, with no hint of tightness, or dryness (I have horribly dry skin). Now, had I been given this product a year ago, I would have gagged at the smell (pregnancy did some crazy things to me, including messing with my sense of smell, I couldn’t stand this scent back then). Thankfully, things are back to normal with my beak! Anyway, I digress, I love this product a lot!
5) Sebastian Hydre Shampoo and Conditioner. I have very bleached, long suffering hair! I have a wonderful hairdresser who keeps my hair in check, but as anyone with bleached hair will know, it requires a whole lot of maintenance. I’m not going to lie, sometimes I just don’t have time for all that faffing about, so I applaud products that reduce the faff. These products are moisturising, giving softness to my hair without making it fly-away. There is no hint of greasiness to my hair (some hydrating products do that to my fine hair), and it never feels weighed down after using the products. I’m a real floozie when it comes to hair products, but I can see this sticking around in my shower for the foreseeable future.
Thanks for reading. I am happy to do full reviews on any of the products mentioned, and will happily link where they can be purchased from. Any questions, tips and suggestions are welcome.
